Ouarzazate is the capital of Morocco’s Deep South and has its own domestic and international airport.
Located 180 km at the south of Marrakesh, Ouarzazate is at the heart of a region with tens of Kasbahs, valleys, gorges, dunes, Palm groves, rose gardens and oases…which became famous worldwide.
Horse riding, caravaning on a camel, quad in the dunes, sand surfing, rafting, climbing in the gorges, or shopping in the Souks, visiting the movie studios…are a few of the possible activities. Not to mention the breath taking landscapes.
Located at the doors of the moroccan desert, Ouarzazate is a wonderful starting point for a bivouac in the desert: a night under the stars! A unique experience.

Temperatures, in summer, can go as high as 40°C and the rest of the year the weather is very mild.

The Landmarks to see when in Ouarzazate
Kasbah of Taourirt
located in the historic centre of the old Ouarzazate, the Kasbah of the Glaoui is a museum famous for its architecture, and beautifully renovated rooms and painted ceilings.
in the outskirt of Ouarzazate these studios are praised by most Film Directors. Movies like Cleopatra, Alexander the Great, the Mummy….were produced there.
Perched in the cliffs this oasis has been extensively featured in many movies. From there, one can go on horseback to visit an amethyst quarry (2200m. alt.) A must do.
Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah
A World Heritage Site, it is there that the film GLADIATOR was shot as well as The Diamond of the Nile. A fantastic view awaits you on the top of the village. The village built in the mountain is a must-see.
Skoura Palm Grove
Skoura is the beginning of the Dades Valley, with an amazing 180,000 palm trees. The Kasbah of Amridil dates back to the 17th century.
Valley of Draa River
The Draa river is surrounded by a beautiful valley, with palm groves and Ksars like Tamnougalte. The river is more than a 1000km long and finishes in the Atlantic ocean, after crossing Sahara.
A fortress dating back to the 16th century, which was erected by the Berber tribe, the Mezguita. You can see the fortress reflecting in the water of the Draa river. Superb view.

Gorges of TOUDGHA
